Cognitive Profiling

At Beretti Therapy, we understand how helpful it can be to make sense of how your mind works—especially if things have started to feel more difficult, or if you’re simply curious to understand yourself more deeply.

Cognitive Profiling is a gentle and collaborative way to explore your unique thinking style. Rather than being about labels or diagnoses, it’s about discovering your strengths, making sense of challenges, and identifying the support that feels right for you.

"It is a gentle and collaborative way to explore your unique thinking style"

What is Cognitive Profiling?

Cognitive profiling involves structured assessments that explore memory, attention, language, and problem-solving. These are all parts of how we process information, make decisions, and interact with the world—and they can be affected by many things, including mental health, stress, physical health, or neurodevelopmental differences. It’s not about labels—it’s about creating a clear picture of how your brain works, so you can make informed choices in everyday life, relationships, and work.

When might it be helpful?

This approach can be especially helpful if you:

  • Feel foggy, forgetful, or find concentrating harder than usual

  • Are exploring or living with ADHD, Autism or other forms of neurodiversity

  • Have a neurological condition such as MS, epilepsy, or Parkinson’s

  • Are noticing cognitive changes with age and want clarity or reassurance

  • Want to understand how mental health (anxiety, low mood, burnout) is affecting your thinking

  • Are looking for practical strategies to support your wellbeing

If you’re interested in learning more or would like to speak with our Head of Neuropsychology, Dr Olivia Pounds, is available to guide you through the process and offer personalised support.

" Our focus is always on empowering you."

What Can We Support With?

At Beretti Therapy London, we understand that deciding to undertake a neuropsychological assessment can feel like a big step. That’s why we aim to make the process as straightforward and supportive as possible.

1. Initial Consultation: The journey typically begins with an initial consultation, where we’ll take the time to understand your concerns, gather relevant personal and medical history, and discuss what you hope to gain from the assessment.

2. Assessment: The assessment itself is conducted over one or more sessions, using scientifically validated tools to evaluate various cognitive functions. These sessions are designed to be engaging and paced to ensure you feel comfortable throughout.

3. Comprehensive Report: After the assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive report that clearly outlines the findings and provides personalised recommendations. We’ll also invite you to a feedback session, where we’ll explain the results in detail and ensure you feel confident about the next steps. Whether it’s developing strategies for day-to-day challenges or accessing additional support, we’re here to guide you.

4. Support: Following the assessment and feedback, we can offer ongoing support tailored to your needs. While we do not offer diagnostic assessments for Autism or ADHD, we do provide post-diagnostic support if you’ve recently received a diagnosis. Support can also be offered independently of cognitive profiling, helping you make sense of your experiences, build on your strengths, and develop strategies that work for you. We also offer space for carers and loved ones to explore how best to support someone close to them. Our approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in what matters most to you.

It’s important to note that while our reports are thorough and designed to support your understanding and wellbeing, they are not intended for legal or medico-legal purposes and are intended solely for clinical and therapeutic purposes. If you are seeking an evaluation for legal claims, personal injury cases, or any medico-legal purposes, we recommend consulting a specialist in that field.
